- One becomes a werewolf through being bitten by a werewolf in wolf form.
- Werewolves, like most other half-breeds, are strongly discriminated against. Though the Ministry outlawed hunting werewolves, they still face being discriminated against in most all settings.
- In order to be born a werewolf, the person in question must be pureblood, with a family history of born werewolves. At the slightest drop of non-magical heritage the risk goes away entirely. Even two turned werewolves will not produce werewolf children.
- There are no such things as half-werewolves, the person in question is either a werewolf or not.
- Obviously, werewolves transform at each full moon. During the process they lose their human minds, they would kill their own best friend without thinking about it.
- Though transformation cannot be avoided, through use of the Wolfsbane potion, the werewolf can keep their human mind.
- In human form, werewolves tend to have some dog-like tendencies, though these are subtle. Many of them dislike cats, and prefer to eat their meat on the rarer side.
- Turned werewolves are usually smaller in size than born werewolves.
- Werewolves become extremely fatigued and more susceptible to illness during the week before and after the full moon.
- Werewolves can expect typical lifespans of humans.
- If a female werewolf gets pregnant, she will not transform at full moons until after the baby is born.
